GIS Analyst / GIS Professional

Prairie Engineers, P.C. is seeking a GIS Analyst / GIS Professional to join our team.  

Prairie Engineers is a growing company, looking to add additional GIS capabilities to our team.  The ideal candidate is an experienced GIS Analyst able to serve as a subject matter expert and lead mapping, data processing, data management, and asset management projects and to support planning, geospatial, and engineering design projects.  This position is a full-time position with benefits and a competitive salary and is available to be filled in any of our office locations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Proven knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and associated extensions.
  • Perform a wide variety of mapping, data processing, data management, and asset management projects and develop project deliverables
  • Work both independently and as a team leader
  • Focus on project delivery and customer service with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Coordinate with office staff consisting of surveyors, engineers, environmental scientists, and CADD technicians to support them with GIS data and deliverables
  • Develop proposals and estimates for various projects involving GIS
  • Communicate effectively with the project team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Planning, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, Earth or Life Sciences, or a related field
  • Proficient with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop
  • Experience with developing Geodatabases, map generation, and data visualization
  • Ability to think critically and solve complex problems
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to meet project requirements
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a project team
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Genuine enthusiasm toward learning, extending technical capabilities and finding innovative solutions.
  • Project a professional, positive attitude with a strong work ethic

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

  • Five or more years of related work experience
  • Certification as a GISP
  • Experience with asset management
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships
