WATER RESOURCES AND DRAINAGE

Water is one of our most valuable resources. Our engineers are able to assist our partner-clients with the modeling of drainage areas and streams to predict the amount of water likely to flow into, through, or out of a facility. These hydraulic models aid in the planning and permitting of new developments and infrastructure. They also support the design of bridges, sewers, culverts, channels, and levees to reduce flooding and improve stormwater quality. Prairie Engineers provides specific expertise in:

  • Bridge and culvert hydraulic reports
  • Regional drainage studies
  • Floodplain delineation
  • Clean Water Act Section 404 permitting
  • National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits
  • Best Management Practice (BMP) development
  • Stormwater quality improvements and green infrastructure

In addition, our staff can help municipalities prepare or update Municipal Stormwater Management Plans (SWMP's) and recommend Best Management Practices (BMP's) to comply with the US Clean Water Act.
