Employees of Prairie Engineers were responsible for creation of a Project Development Report and construction plans, specifications, and estimates for total reconstruction on a modified alignment of 1.7 miles of a minor arterial roadway in the City of Lincoln. The reconstruction project consists of replacing the existing rural, 2-lane cross section with a 3-lane, urban cross section. The horizontal and vertical alignments were designed to minimize impacts to adjacent landowners. Also included in the project are the reconstruction of an at-grade rail crossing, regional stormwater detention, major storm and sanitary sewer improvements, the preparation of an embankment for a future multi-use trail, and the development of right-of-way plats for 40+ parcels. As a separate but related project, developed plans, specifications and estimates for a safety project to replace seven box culverts along a rural stretch of Fifth Street Road, then completed plans for total reconstruction of six miles of Fifth Street Road, including a drainage analysis and ditch widening and the development of right-of-way plats for 40+ parcels.
