Prairie Engineers, P.C. is seeking an experienced Professional Civil Engineer to join their team.
Prairie Engineers is a full-service engineering, geospatial, and environmental science firm delivering sustainable infrastructure solutions for our natural and developed environment. We are a woman-owned firm with offices in Columbia, Hillsboro, and Springfield, Washington, Illinois; Keokuk, Iowa; and Hazelwood, Missouri. The firm provides services to federal, state, and local governments, utilities, industries, and private businesses.
Prairie Engineers is a growing company, looking to add a Civil Engineer experienced in site planning and/or transportation projects to their team to manage and perform infrastructure projects including planning, design, and construction administration services. This position will be a full-time position with benefits and a competitive salary based on previous experience. This position is available to be filled in any of our office locations.
Essential Job Functions:
Ability to manage and perform the planning, design, and construction administration of federal, state, and local government, utilities, and industrial infrastructure projects in multiple states
Manage, mentor and coordinate staff consisting of surveyors, engineers, environmental scientists, and CADD technicians
Focus on project delivery and customer service with attention to detail and deadlines
Ability to work both independently and as a team leader
Develop proposals and estimates for various civil engineering projects
Develop and maintain client relationships
Communicate effectively with the internal and external project team
Assist in the strategic management of the firm’s civil engineering discipline
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of ten years’ relevant design experience
Current licensure as an Illinois or Missouri Professional Engineer
Proficient in Power GEOPAK, Open Roads, and/or AutoDesk Civil3D
Familiarity with current local, state and federal Design Standards and Regulations or the ability to quickly learn and adapt to varying design standards
Willingness to travel to meet project requirements
Good verbal and written communications skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a project team
Project a professional, positive attitude with a strong work ethic
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
Ten or more years of design experience
Past project management experience
Design experience with Illinois DOT or Missouri DOT design standards, procedures, and requirements
Strong familiarity with ArcGIS
