Prairie Engineers of Illinois, P.C. provided design and construction engineering services for the five block Pulaski Street Reconstruction project in the City of Lincoln, Illinois. Pulaski Street serves as a collector street into downtown Lincoln and consisted of a patchwork of brick and concrete pavements with severely deteriorated asphalt overlays in various locations. The existing pavement was completely removed and reconstructed with a new concrete pavement. Sidewalks and entrances were also reconstructed as part of the project. The aging combined sewer serving this area was separated into new storm and sanitary sewers as part of this project.
Prairie Engineers completed planning, topographical surveying, developed plans, specifications, and estimates, conducted public outreach, coordinated bidding and construction contract award, and completed construction observation of this project. The project was constructed in two phases to accommodate businesses located on the west end of the project and a winter shut-down.
