Darren Forgy was responsible for geographic information system (GIS) mapping in support of master planning efforts at the Joint Forces Headquarters (JFHQ) of the Indiana National Guard. This work included field surveys and GIS geodatabase development for the secure former Stout Army Air Field facility in support of the development of a master plan. Methods used to collect field data included Real Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS surveys using ArcPad for Mobile GIS data collection. All surface features, including pavements, sidewalks, buildings, fences, green spaces, water bodies, and surface evidence of underground utilities, were surveyed. Underground utilities were inventoried to Level C of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Standard 38-02. The final deliverable was a geodatabase compliant with the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE).
